Lower Covey Montessori Nursery offers quality care and education for children aged 4 months to school leaving age.  We also offer After School Club provision to our three local primary's in Yetminster, Thornford and Bradford Abbas.



Lower Covey is situated in the picturesque village of Yetminster, in North Dorset.  Surrounded by the countryside, the nursery premises is a converted barn which was converted specifically for the purpose of becoming a nursery.  We are part of a working farm, allowing our children to experience the many benefits farming brings to our community.

 

Our nursery consists of three main rooms, the 'Ladybird Room' for babies and younger toddlers, the 'Dragonfly Room' for slightly older toddlers, and the 'Bumblebee Room' for pre-school aged children.  Also within the nursery is a kitchen for the production of our home cooked meals for the children, a nursery kitchen for staff to make snacks, bottles and serve food, a dedicated sleep room, an office, a staff kitchen as well as bathrooms and nappy changing areas.

Being in the countryside allows for an abundance of outside space, which enables our children to access the natural environment all year round.  Lower Covey has a concrete play area with a selection of ride-on and outside toys, a field play area and willow tunnel, a sensory garden, an outside classroom, a vegetable garden and an on-site Forest School area.  Our farm area at Lower Covey gives our children the chance to interact and learn about our cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, guinea pigs, rabbits, quails and miniature Shetlands.
